Challenge
In this project, I created a tarot deck inspired by the nature and symbolic meaning of butterflies. The deck comprised 10 meticulously designed cards, each reflecting the essence of butterflies and their metaphorical significance. The front side of the cards features the logo design, while the overall illustration and visual identity was crafted to align with the deck's intended message.
Goal
The objective of this deck was to beautifully depict the profound teachings of metamorphosis and transformation inspired by butterflies. Taking a step-by-step approach through the life cycle of a butterfly, my aim was to translate these lessons into insights that could guide, inspire, and assist individuals on their personal journeys. To convey these meanings, I meticulously crafted the illustrations, design style, typography, and color scheme of the cards. The goal was to create a visually compelling and spiritually evocative experience, allowing users to connect deeply with the transformative wisdom embedded within each card.
Solution
I opted for a vintage aesthetic, incorporating off-white borders, grain textures, and elegant yet aged typography. This choice aimed to symbolize the journey of a lifetime, emphasizing that personal growth and transformation takes time. To evoke a sense of lightness and joy, I carefully selected lighter shades of warm and cool colors, capturing the light and airy essence of butterflies. The illustrations, created in a realistic style, depicted the various stages of a butterfly's life. Infused with a watercolor and playful touch, the illustrations aimed to evoke a sense of positivity, happiness, and vibrant energy of life. They were designed to serve as a beacon of hope, filling the user with a renewed sense of joy and life force. The cards were crafted to inspire and uplift, offering a peaceful sanctuary that radiates optimism and serenity.
